The Delay is Over

After a very long delay, I 've finally found several crochet patterns. I've been on the lookout for something to really catch my eye and found the perfect book at the Happy Bookseller where we have our knit-ins. It's amazing crochet lace by Doris Chan and evolves around the authors interest in exploded crochet.

There are several gorgeous designs which I would like to make. In no particular order the Chrysanthemum Tea Shawl, Farpoint Topper, Sambuca Jacket and the Abydos Vest. Updates as soon as yarn is chosen. That's the hard job!

The Scarf Is Done!!!

Finally, An FO!

So sorry that I've been so neglectful of this KAL. I've been knitting and crocheting, but I've been pretty spastic, jumping from project to project.

I started the Ribbed Scarf with a Crocheted Edging well over two months ago, and knitted about half of her in a few days, then put her up in favor of other projects.

Yesterday, I was determined to finish her, so I did.

I used about 2 and a half balls of Debbie Bliss's Cashmarino DK with the recommended size 8 needles. It came out much wider than the that pattern states, but I love the yarn (so soft!) and the color.

I really like the lacy edges.

There isn't much crocheting in the scarf, just one row on edge end. Still, it's a very nice scarf, and it will make a wonderful gift.

My next project will be more of a combination.

Crocheted Cat Toys

I decided I'd try crocheting up some quick cat toys, so I pulled out that eyelash yarn I hate, some plan ol' white cotton from a cone and started crocheting. I did one, stuff a couple small bells in there, and a weee bit of catnip (in a piece of cut off pantyhose), and the cats seem to really enjoy them. They crochet up very quickly, and I've made a couple I'm going to bring to the SPCA right up the road from me for their adorable kittens.

Feeling the love!

Originally I was planning on crocheting/knitting a top for my daughter for this along, but right now I am lacking inspiration for it. I have relized that I dont crochet much these days. I knit the most. I am very christmas inpired these days since we are to celebrate christams for the first time in our new house, so I located my favorite heart pattern for crochet and got to it. I plan to make lots and lots and have them hanging on my tree this christmas and in every window with crocheted snowflakes. Soory abou the crappy pics, but I took them with my cellphone.

First Crochet Project

I finished my first project, the cat tunnel. :) It was a bit tough at the beginning, but I think I got it, at least the basic stitches. I'm truly shocked at how quick crochet goes, it seems much, much faster then knitting. I want to thank Vera again for giving me the push I needed to actually try crocheting, it's wonderful and I think it will be invaluable to know.

Here's a picture of the cat tunnel

First Project

It's a Combo!

Hello Everyone!

I just had to try that beautiful Knitted Scarf with a Crocheted Edge pattern that Vicki posted the other day. I haven't done many scarves recently, but this time, I've been in a bit of a scarf mode.

This isn't the best photo, but I love this scarf. I'm using Debbie Bliss's Cashmerino DK in a color voted on by the regulars at my LYS.

I got three skeins, and so far, I've used one. The crocheted edging in done at the end.

I think it's a beautiful scarf that would make a great gift, and it's a good combination pattern for because it's easy, interesting, and pretty.

I'll take a better photo once I'm done.
